Saturday 29th V Westminster Park Lions

All, this Saturday we are away at Westminster Park Lions. Kick-off is 10:30 so please arrive for 10:00. Full squad required. Pitches can be found at Hough Green Chester, by driving from the Grosvenor Bridge roundabout in the direction of Saltney - you will see the entrance on the left hand side about 200m from the roundabout. Please remember to bring warm gear for the boys. Recently, several Westminster Park games have been cancelled due to unplayable pitches. I may only find out if our game is cancelled on Friday night. If this happens I will call you all so check your answer machines etc on Friday evening. No call from me means the match is on. Thanks for your efforts in getting all our Chester City trip forms and cheques in. I will be chasing up our rain jackets tomorrow. See you Saturday when hopefully we can get back to our winning form. Andy.

SATURDAY 22ND V NEWTON ATHLETIC

All, this coming Saturday we have an away fixture at Newton Athletic. Kick-off is at 10:00 so please try to be there for 09:30. We are playing at Cheshire County Sports Ground in Newton Lane, Chester. Postcode is CH2 1PR. If you log on to the Newton Athletic AFC website you can find directions. Full squad required - let me know if you cannot make it. Please remember to collect forms from me for the Chester City visit - I forgot to distribute them last Saturday and it was not a morning for hanging around. Thanks to all of you who braved the weather! Finally, Kevin Swanton has very generously provided a significant donation towards the purchase of Waverton AFC rain jackets for our squad. Assuming that you are okay with this can I ask for a parental contribution of £7.50 per player? Jackets will be available within a fortnight. Please pass cash or cheques ( payable to Andy Hodgson ) to me and I will sort out payment with Queensferry Sports. Can you all provide me with your email addresses on Saturday so that in future I can email any necessary documentation to you. Thanks, Andy.

SATURDAY NOV 8TH

All, Our next fixture is against Malpas Blacks this coming Saturday. We will be playing at Carden Park Hotel and kick-off is at 10:30. Please get there for 10:00. Carden Park is on the A534 between Broxton and Wrexham. The post code is CH3 9DQ. As you enter the Hotel grounds via a small automated traffic barrier, follow the road for a short distance and you will see the pitch on the right hand side. We are to park along the roadside - take care when leaving your vehicles to access the pitch. Under 9 rules this year stipulate that the maximum squad size on match days is 10 players. Up until now I have been taking our full squad to each game with the agreement of the opposition. This Saturday I have to stick to 10 players. Before I pick the 10 players for Saturday can you let me know if any players are unavailable. If you already know of any weekends when you are unavailable, let me know and I will work out a rota system to identify the two players who have to sit out each week. Unless there are any objections I do not intend to include Max in the rota. Players who are not picked for the squad can still come along to support. I would be grateful if you could explain to your lads why we can only take 10 players each week as no doubt there will be some disappointment. See you on Saturday, Andy.
